Answers to what homeowners and contractors ask us most often.
A properly installed and maintained stucco exterior can last 50 to 80 years. Lifespan depends on the mix design, application quality, climate exposure, and routine maintenance. In Georgia's humid climate, keeping caulk lines and paint coatings fresh every 5–7 years is the key to maximizing longevity.
Common causes include building settlement, thermal expansion and contraction, improper curing during application, missing or misplaced control joints, and water infiltration behind the surface. Hairline cracks are normal; wide or step cracks warrant a professional inspection to rule out structural or moisture issues.
Yes. Elastomeric paint is the best choice for stucco — it flexes with the surface and bridges hairline cracks. Avoid standard latex paints, which can trap moisture. We color-match using 100% acrylic elastomeric coatings rated for the Southeast climate and back every paint job with a two-year workmanship warranty.
EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System) is a multi-layer system that includes a rigid foam insulation board, a reinforcing mesh embedded in a base coat, and a textured acrylic finish coat. Traditional (hard-coat) stucco is a cement-based product applied over metal lath. EIFS offers superior insulation and design flexibility; hard coat offers maximum impact resistance. We install and repair both.
A full residential installation on a typical 2,000 sq. ft. home takes 5 to 10 business days, including cure time between coats. Repair jobs can often be completed in one to two days. Timeline varies based on surface area, existing damage, weather, and finish type. We give you a specific schedule before any work begins.
Yes. All stucco installation and repair work is backed by a 2-year workmanship warranty. EIFS systems carry a 5-year workmanship warranty. Material warranties are passed through from the manufacturer. If anything related to our work fails within the warranty period, we return and correct it at no charge.
